SERVICES

Traffic Engineering

Drive Engineering was responsible for bus data collection efforts, Synchro/Simtraffic analysis, and traffic signal plans for seven (7) intersections along 52nd Street. Bus data collection efforts included travel time, dwell time, and signal delay recordings during morning and evening peak period both while riding the bus and while stationary at select intersections along 52nd Street from Jefferson Street to Baltimore Avenue. A total of sixteen (16) runs were captured via in-person observations and video recordings for the SEPTA 52 bus. The data was processed, and descriptive statistics were obtained to inform SEPTA and the Streets Department of the congested locations and upgrades that can be made to mitigate delays for buses such as transit signal priority and bus queue jumps.
