Overheight Vehicle Detection System (OVDS) Automation - TSB Truck Warning System (Pilot)

Drive assisted in providing the development of an automated Overweight Vehicle Detection System (OVDS) for the Lower Trenton Toll Support Bridge. The assignment included a comprehensive review of the existing proposal to utilize a dual beam infrared-based over-height system. Drive held a series of workshops and field meetings with the Commission to determine the needs of the OVDS. Drive refined the user needs gathered during the site investigation and held several vendor coordination meetings to determine what technology would be most applicable. Drive developed a conceptual layout, cost estimate, and design report to support the preferred OVDS alternative in addition to enhancements to their current ESS system. Drive also performed site investigations and due diligence with the Commission to ensure the devices could receive reliable electrical service and communicate directly with the Commission’s existing network.
