SR 0070 ITS Design / Construction Engineering and Inspection

Drive was responsible for assisting PennDOT in the development of ITS Plans, Specifications, and Estimate (PS&E) documents for the SR 0070 Section K10. The project includes developing comprehensive communication schematics to support ITS devices being installed and/or relocated. The communications methods include fiber optic cable, Ethernet, and wireless radios/repeaters. ITS Devices include Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras, Dynamic Message Signs (DMS), and Wireless Repeaters. In addition, this project involves the development of a Design-Build Special provision to maintain all existing ITS uptime during roadway construction.

In addition, Drive was responsible for providing comprehensive Construction Engineering and Inspection (CE&I) for Section K10. The project included reviewing ITS submittals, addressing contractor’s Requests for Information (RFIs), and supporting testing and acceptance of ITS devices that were installed and/or relocated.
