Truck Parking Management System (TPMS)

Drive was the Engineer of Record for this design-build project that included the design, procurement, installation, integration, testing, and operation of a state-of-the-art TPMS along the Pennsylvania Turnpike. Drive was responsible for the design of the TPMS at ten (10) Mainline and Northeast Extension PTC Service Plazas. The TPMS utilizes an in-pavement truck detection system, one (1) digital/static hybrid message sign, and Closed Circuit Television Systems (CCTV) for parking validation. Drive was also responsible for designing the power and communications networks for all the devices. Additionally, Drive ensured that construction would not interfere with existing utilities by initiating PA One Calls. All locations of facilities were discussed with the owners of nearby utilities. Drive provided all potential and necessary training for the PTC administrators, operators, and maintenance personnel involved with the system.
